Ode'min Giizis 2011: honor culture and borders

In the spirit of excitement and inclusion welcomes the fourth annual Ode'min Giizis Festival of indigenous art and culture artists from all over Canada and around the world, June 15th-19 in Peterborough, Ontario.

Clutch artists, young and older, aufstrebenden and built, local and visiting, traditional and contemporary - offers the chance to experience the Festival and learning of open, move forward different cultures, differences creative talks about how together, we.

The Festival begins on Wednesday, June 15th, with opening celebrate (dance, music and entertainment!); continue on Thursday, a performance by the creator's game, a piece of short contemporary dance, before the Peterborough Lakers lacrosse. On Friday, June 17 parents and children are invited to participate in Bimaadiziwin; the art of living in a good way. Evening theater include sport Tonto's nephew with Toronto's hilarious comedy troupe.

Saturday, June 18th, are all welcome, one of the first days of the summer with a Sunrise ceremony start, and in the lively and inviting community procession beginning at 11 A.m. in Peterborough City Hall and culminated in a day-long traditional meeting with dance, Drums, storytellers and more del Crary Park. Had not enough? Check the this year's IndieGenius outdoor out concert, this year on Hunter Street, and with musical collaboration with local musicians from the four corners of the Earth.

Sunday, June 19, the Festival hosts one Iroquois Lacrosse (DEWA: ao Gajihgwa; s / the creator game) program youth clinic.
