Singer and puppeteer Alissa Hunnicutt, known for her performances sweet and spunky cabaret brings their production, "THE KID INSIDE," on the lower east side for a night of music and theatre on the 18 May 2011, presented by Dixon place.
Hunnicutt's the kid inside reminds her audience one inescapable truth: you were once the child is still a major role, who you are. The same child that is open and vulnerable enough, really, risk of injury is also the one, the eternal optimist, say you get up and go to remains.
That is kid within a multimedia show with videos, six styles of puppetry presented hand/rod, shadow, - to make toy theater, table top, found object and puppet - and a repertoire of songs from pop to country that promises, audience laugh and wines.

Within is the kid is presented by Dixon place as part of the puppet BloK, a series curated by Leslie Strongwater supported with generous funding from the Jim Henson Foundation. Puppet BloK shows new works of puppetry, animation, music, and other innovative styles of the performance of emerging and established artists from NYC area. Branches of Dixon place mission is on experimental work, offers puppet BloK a comprehensive venue for alternative modes of storytelling.
Hunnicutt is a musical with puppeteer Z Briggs, honey Goodenough and Chad Williams, with/co-creator Director Steven Katz, led by Warren Kelley.
A consummate performer, Alissa Hunnicutt other projects include a series of toy Theatre country songs, and "Elements of Ophelia" a PuppetMaster character study inspired by the three songs of the Ophelia of Richard Strauss.

Alissa Hunnicutt originated in Iowa City, Iowa and now lives in New York City. She began the study of the PuppetMaster with John Tartaglia in 2005 and is now the established puppeteer at Mount Sinai Hospital KidZoneTV. Is it a featured performer at the National Conference of PuppetMaster O'Neill and great small works International Toy Theater Festival. In addition to the being a puppeteer is Alissa also an accomplished voice-over actor and singer with a master of music degree in Opera from Manhattan School of music.
